Sam brings a unique blend of analytical experience and strategic decision‑making to his role with The Starner Group, where he supports the investment side of the practice through research and analysis. A Miami native, Sam played baseball for the University of Miami before beginning his professional career.
After earning both his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Accounting from the University of Miami, Sam began his career in auditing before returning to the world of baseball. He worked with the Houston Astros in their Advance Information department and later spent seven years with the Chicago Cubs in Baseball Operations and Player Acquisition. These roles, which included analysis, strategic thinking, and collaboration, shaped the skill set he brings to the financial planning world.
He is excited to continue developing his understanding of investment strategy while gaining hands‑on experience in financial planning. Outside of the office, Sam enjoys being an avid fan of all Miami Hurricanes sports, staying connected to the game of baseball, and golfing.
