Yamila “Yami” Cruz began her career with Margaret Starner, founder of the Starner Group, in 1994. Through long hours, dedication, and a deep commitment to the team’s success, she helped lay the foundation of the practice. Over the years, Yami has taken on a wide range of responsibilities and is often referred to as the team’s “pinch hitter” for her ability to step in wherever she’s needed most.
Today, Yami primarily supports the financial planning side of the practice, with a focus on cash flow and tax planning, as well as preparing materials for client strategy meetings. She is known for her meticulous attention to detail, reliability, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Yami earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Miami and has been a Miami resident for more than four decades.
Yami has been married to her middle school sweetheart, Jorge, for over 30 years. Together, they are the proud parents of Robert and Victoria. Outside of work, Yami enjoys traveling with family and friends, decorating for the holidays, and designing elaborate cakes.
